I hope you and your family are having a great Labor Day weekend. If you have a couple spare minutes, you might want to read these two articles that came out this week regarding the IRS vs. The Villages case.
In the end you’ll see that what I wrote a few weeks ago (that there’s been really no changes or updates in the case) still holds true.
The first article will get you caught up on the case, but if you’ve been reading my emails you can probably skip it.
Here’s the link though if you’d like: http://www.orlandosentinel.com/news/local/lake/os-lk-lauren-ritchie-bond-dispute-irs20100829,0,5465947.column
The second article though, has some juicy insights dug up by Orlando Sentinel columnist Lauren Ritchie.
These include a proposed settlement agreement which was apparently turned down by The Villages ownership, accusations of intimidation, and a Freedom of Information Act demand which was denied by the IRS.
You can read the second article here: http://articles.orlandosentinel.com/2010-09-01/news/os-lk-lauren-ritchie-villages-bond-di20100901_1_irs-villages-irs-agent-dominick-servadio-community-development-districts
Never a dull moment right? I will keep you posted as things progress (and even if they don’t).
Just a note: Because Monday is a holiday, I won’t be shipping any books until Tuesday morning. But if you place your order between now and Monday evening, your book will ship out first thing Tuesday morning.
Thanks for reading.
