A few weeks ago I wrote about the new restaurant at the Havana Country Club being opened by George Stella from the Food Network. Turns out George is a Florida native, so his restaurant opening is more of a homecoming for him. The Villages Vmail has a video interview and peek at what the menu will be like. You can see that here:
By the way, if you are considering a move to The Villages, you should consider subscribing to The Villages Vmail list. This email has some good information about special deals and incentives that The Villages may be running at any given time, as well as various news items from around The Villages. You can subscribe here.
Another item of recent interest is a new line of home The Villages is offering called the Cottage Series. You’ll find that these homes are on the minimalist side, both inside and out. Perfect timing I guess, especially if you are among the many who have watched your 401k shrink in the past few months. Browsing a list of Cottage series homes available in The Villages I saw a couple in the $130,000’s, but most are between $140,000 to $170,000.
That’s it for This Week in The Villages. Polls in The Villages open Tuesday morning at 7 am and will remain open until 7 pm. Don’t forget to vote!
See ya next week!

i absolutely love Havana resturant. the food is wonderful they staff is amazing. Kris Brown the ower of havana was their the other day i was in and he was very nice and warm. he really seemed to care about the staff and guests.
I WAS LOOKING FORWARD TO YOUR HAVANA RESTAURANT WHILE UNDER CONSTRUCTION. I FIRST WENT THEIR WITH A NEIGHBOR SHORTLY AFTER OPENING – DEC 8, 2008 . I HEARD THE MUSSELS WERE SUPPOSE TO BE GREAT. WE ORDERED BUT WERE INFORMED THEY WERE OUT, WHICH I CAN UNDERSTAND. I ORDERED YOUR SPECIAL AND IT WAS OK.
I WENT BACK ON JAN 1 2009 @ 3 OR 4 PM . THE MUSSELS WERE FAIR . I ORDERED TERRYAKI STEAK AND MY DAUGHTER ORDERED A CHICKEN DINNER…. IT WAS THE WORSE MEAL I HAVE HAD IN MANY YEARS… SERVED LATE, COLD, WAY OVERSALTED [ BOTH DINNERS] MY DAUGHTER COULDN’T EAT HER MEAL. TOLD MGR. AND HE RE ORDERED . MEAL WAS HOT BUT POOR QUALITY AND STILL OVER SALTY [ COVER UP TASTE BY OVER SALTING] . I DON’T RECALL THE MGR COMING BACK TO SEE IF ALL WAS WELL.. MY GRANDSON HAD [CHILD] CHICKEN FINGERS AND SAID THEY WERE OK. DIDN’T FINISH MEAL . WE PAID BILL AND LEFT. THE WAITRESS [ SUMMER] WAS COURTEOUS AND TRIED HER BEST. I HARDLY EVEN GOT A APOLOGY FROM MGM’T. . I HAVE LIVED IN THE VILLAGES FOR CLOSE TO A YEAR AND HALF AND HAVE NEVER BEEN SO DISSAPOINTED. SOMETHING IS WRONG WITH YOUR PLACE AND WORD GETS AROUND FAST AND YOU WILL BE HISTORY IN A VERY SHORT TIME.
