Golf Cart Safety Is Everyones Responsibility

Last week a tragedy occurred about an hour away from The Villages that really should make you stop and think the next time you hop into your golf cart. A 58 year old Ormond Beach, FL woman was killed after being thrown from her golf cart. Its unclear at this point what caused her to lose control of the golf cart.

I think we all have a false sense of security when driving golf carts. Its perfectly natural since in most cases they are driven while chasing balls on the golf course. But in The Villages and other places where the golf cart can double as the family car, they must be treated and operated with the same care and respect as a car.

Its not uncommon to see folks driving home after having a few too many drinks at night in the town squares. If this is a common practice for you, think twice about the consequences before you put yourself and others at risk. It is a golf cart, but it can be deadly.
