The Villages is a fast growing place. In fact, its one of the few places in Florida that saw a net increase in people living there in the past year. Because of the growth, there are new restaurants and businesses opening all the time. Commercial growth (businesses, restaurants, etc.) always follows residential growth. Kind of the opposite of “if you build it they will come.” It’s really, “if they come, well I guess you should build it now.”
So as it relates to jobs and employment for younger folks, yes, there are plenty of opportunities in The Villages. I’ve found that Careers in The Villages is probably the best place to start. I didn’t find many job postings at the local newspaper’s website or on hotjobs.
You might want to check out this thread on Talk of The Villages which offers some suggestions including finding a job in one of the surrounding cities.

I am a professional musician interested in working/entertaining in The Villages. My show is called “The BC Bommer Show.” I play a large variety of music focusing on baby boomer anthems. I do everything from acoustic guitar dinner/patio music, to full band tracks with me singing and playing lead guitar. Whether a singles club, or family affair, having fun with the crowd is my calling card, and I never drop the “f” bomb in my show.
My equipment and show is state of the art and set up time is less than a half an hour.
