Laser Spine Institute Opens Consulting Office in The Villages

lsilogo If you’ve got a bad back like me, or think you might have one some day, this will be welcome news. The Laser Spine Institute recently opened a new consult facility in The Villages.

According to a spokesman for LSI, more than 130 former LSI patients currently live in The Villages. LSI opened the facility in an effort to meet the growing demand for its services and to make it more convenient for its patients. Patients will still need to drive to LSI’s Tampa branch for surgery, but consultations can be done locally.

LSI serves patients suffering from chronic neck and back pain, including conditions like spinal stenosis, pinched nerves, herniated disks and spinal arthritis (that’s me!). Treatment is primarily through the use of minimally invasive, endoscopic laser surgery. This treatment especially applies to those who have pain or numbness that persists or worsens after prescription medication and/or conservative treatment have failed.

Laser Spine Institute, The Villages, is led by Michael Perry, M.D. and Dr. Craig Burns, D.O.
Dr. Perry, is Medical Director of the Laser Spine Institute and is also involved with organizing and presenting academic and informational seminars on behalf of LSI. Dr. Perry and his wife, Michele, have three sons. He enjoys traveling, playing golf and spending time with his family.

Dr. Burns launched his career as a staff physician at Helen Ellis Walk-In Clinic in Holiday, Florida. In 2003, Dr. Burns became an Associate at the Carson Family Care Center in Tarpon Springs, Florida, where he was responsible for treating hospital, nursing home, and office- based patients. He has been licensed to practice medicine in the state of Florida since 2001 and is also certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Family Physicians.

LSI has been operating in Tampa, since March, 2005. As one of the only facilities in the country performing this type of surgery, patients from all over the US, Canada and other countries travel to LSI to benefit from these revolutionary outpatient procedures.
